Shopalk: Managing the Dynamic Curb: Balancing Demands & Commercial Loading
Sponsored by: VADE
Moderated by: Matty Schaefer Curb management challenges abounded before the pandemic. Cities and operators created innovative mapping, pricing, and management models to address TNCs, metered parking, transit, and commercial loading, as well as a myriad of first- and last-mile options. During the last year those same operations launched new programs and pilots to address new delivery demands as well as outdoor dining to create safer, touchless options at the curb. As the industry recovers, the rebound at the curb will prove more challenging than ever. Join other industry professionals to discuss all the demands at the curb, with a particular focus on how to address commercial loading for more efficient and streamlined curbside operations. Take Us to the Ballpark, Friction-free: The Miami Marlins’ Free Flow, Frictionless Event Parking
Presented by: Angel Diaz and Henry Espinosa, Miami Parking Authority; and Mike Mckeon, Parking Partners LLC and Chris Yigit, AutoVu
The Miami Marlins, along with the Miami Parking Authority are introducing Free Flow Parking at Marlins Park for the 2021 baseball season. This frictionless parking system was designed prior to the COVID19 pandemic to mitigate traffic and congestion around the ballpark and its urban setting. The state-of-the-art solution will improve ingress to the 37,000 capacity venue; using license plate tags as parking credentials, guests and staff no longer need to check in upon arrival to the parking facilities. Virtual nesting areas and enforcement will ensure season ticket members receive preferential parking within the facilities encompassing 5,600 spaces. We expect ingress to be reduced by 60 percent, increasing our guests’ overall satisfaction along with other ancillary benefits. Location: |
